EbizChem
launches partnership with Chemexcil-Trade zones with DMAI
and AIA and other chemical associations to follow
Three
major industry associations, who together represent more
than 9000 companies, have come together to form a common
electronic trading platform for their members, as part of
ebizchem- a B2B platform for chemicals and related products.
In
the first step towards such an alliance, ebizchem launched 'Chemexciltradezone'
in partnership with the Chemexcil- the export promotion
council for chemicals and related products. Very soon
similar trade zones are to be launched in collaboration with
the Dyestuffs Manufacturers' Association of India (DMAI) and
the Ankleshwar Industries Association (AIA), which has
amongst its members companies that operate in one of the
largest chemical zones of India.
When
the trade floors for the three associations are complete
Ebizchem will allow members to come together to transact
business not only among themselves, but pose as a single
point of reach for any international buyer or seller of
chemicals. "The cutting edge platform developed by
Ebizchem allows every partnering association to provide the
services to their members under their own respective
identity. This will also enable them to build their own
global presence", a press release issued by ebizchem
said.
"For
the first time any where in the world multiple associations
will share a common platform for the benefit of their
members. Ebizchem is already in dialogue with nine other
chemical and related associations and is expecting
them to join this integration of association soon",
said Mr. Suhrid Shah. Managing Director and CEO of ebizchem.
According
to him, users from all sectors of the industry and of
varying sizes have begun to use this platform and are
reaping rich benefits. Large companies such as BASF (I)
Ltd., Mumbai; SRF Ltd., New Delhi; Dharamsi Morarjee
Ltd., Mumbai; Metrochem Ltd, Ahmedabad are part of the
e-commerce platform. "SMEs like A.K. Chemicals,
Ahmedabad; Nutan Dyechem P. Ltd., Surat have already found
new customers and signed up lucrative deals", the press
release said.
The
services offered by Ebizchem are focused basically on
bridging the information gap by integrating multiple source
of information; and providing a dynamic community for
instant exchange of information and communication. According
to Mr. Shah, these are the key drivers for the success of
any business. "With the world shrinking and competition
heating up, the success of any organization depends on its
capabilities of responding to change. The key driver for
this is information on market and the speed of
response", he said.
Ebizchem
has focused all its solutions to address this key area of
success. Most importantly, these solutions are delivered in
a customized pakage through its cutting edge platform 'MyOffice',
which delivers customized information and provides the
facilities for a dynamic relation between related buyers and
sellers of an organization.
First
in the world
The chairman of Chemexcil, Mr.
Kishore Chokhani, who was present in Ahmedabad to launch
the collaboration, observed that Chemexcil will be one of
the world's first associations to be able to offer their
members such an advanced service. "As the world
changes, it is our mission to continue to find the world's
best resources to further this goal. Our latest initiative
is to create an Internet-based trading platform for our
members", he said in a press release issued on the
occasion.
According
to Chemexcil, the alliance will provide many benefits to
members:
-
Members
will now have easier and faster access to immense and
current buying and selling data in their own offices.
-
They
will be able to see who needs what products and make
instantaneous offers to them.
-
This
platform will also allow them to conduct confidential
negotiations and close deals.
-
They
will now be able to source their requirements of raw
materials and intermediates from a wider range of
sources than ever before- thus increasing their
competitiveness.
"In
effect, instead of just a few trade fairs every yea,
Chemexcil members will now have access to world buyers every
day on their desktops", the release said.
Referring
specifically to the tie-up with ebizchem, Mr. Chokhani said
that Chemexcil had chosen to collaborate with ebizchem
"after having studied various B2B platforms".
"We found that their technology was far superior and
far more practical to use. Apart from the real-life trading
experience of the developers, what convinced us was the
actual experience of some of the easier users of the
technology", he added.
DMAI
looking to further exports
DMAI
officials said the dyestuffs industry had long felt the need
for quick communication facilities to have a competitive
edge in the global market to sustain growth. "It was in
this context that when ebizchem approached us offering
services for devising a common platform....a consensus was
arrived at to avail of their services to promote and develop
business avenues. The fact that some of the leading
associations and business houses in the country had already
entered into business tie-up arrangements with ebizchem also
weighted with us while deciding so", an official
release from the association said.
Mr.
D.K. Patel,
Chairman, Public Undertaking Grievance Committee,
Ankhleshwar Insustries Association (AIA), expressed his
initial skepticism to the idea due to the very low
penetration of the net as a medium of education in the
industries located in the area. "It was ebizchem, who
initiated the process of convincing our members about the
benefit of the information and how easy it was to use the
platform", Mr. Patel noted. To acquaint members with
the tools of the trade, AIA proposes to launch a series of
training seminars for the benefit of their members.
